Max Verstappen, who came in fourth in the most recent Formula 1 race, has joined Team Redline! It’s the most successful team in online sim racing, competing in tough online competitions where the line between real and virtual racing is very thin. This makes it a fun and challenging way for Max Verstappen to train, especially since he has an awesome Playseat® setup at home: a Playseat® F1 Red Bull, Playseat® Motion System and Playseat® TV Stand – PRO-3S!
“I love sim racing alongside my Formula 1 career,” says Max. “I’ve been working with team manager Atze Kerkhof for quite some time now and with Team Redline and Fanatec I will share the virtual race tracks with the fastest sim racers in the world. That’s a big challenge, just how I like it!”
In the beginning Max Verstappen will only train with Team Redline, because his busy schedule doesn’t allow him to already compete in online competitions.
Team manager Atze Kerkhof is delighted: “I am happy and honored to have Max on board with Team Redline. I look forward to continuing our sim race battles like we did last year.” Team boss Dom Duhan adds: “It’s great to have Max on the team. He immediately was incredibly fast. He is a unique talent and we are very proud that he represents us in the sim racing world.”
At Team Redline, Max joins racers like Richie Stanaway (Aston Martin WEC driver and GP3 winner), Nick Catsburg (races in Blancpain GT3) and Kelvin van der Linde (active for Audi in GT).
Team Redline was founded in May 2000 and has since become the most successful sim racing team. In the past fifteen years, Team Redline won more than 100 individual and team championships at the top of sim racing; mainly in iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2. Some of the Redline racers are active in the iRacing Drivers World Championship, including Greger Huttu who last year became world champion for the fourth time.
